Spring residents opposed to apartment plan

A proposal for a low income apartment complex is stirring up a lot of emotions in one Spring neighborhood. A developer submitted a proposal to the Texas Department of Housing for a 20-building, 160-unit apartment complex off Gosling Road near FM 2920 in Spring. That spot is right across from the Windrose subdivision and a lot of people who live there aren't pleased.

"We are concerned that the addition of all of these apartment complexes or these units will put a strain on our services," said resident Kelly Wilson, who's against the complex.

The developer did not return our phone calls, but a staffer in state Senator Dan Patrick's office says the developer has agreed to withdraw the proposal and resubmit it for senior citizen housing.
