Jailers arrested after two inmates escape

Two Gregg County jailers were placed on leave and officials have changed jail policies after authorities say they helped two men escape earlier this week. Sheriff's investigators say 20-year-old Gracie Carrillo and 25-year-old Yvonne Oliver were arrested Friday and charged with facilitating the escape of two inmates who broke out of jail Tuesday.

Bond for the two Longview women was set at $175,000.

Desmond Dewayne Jackson, 27, of Hallsville and Bruce Danjuane Kelly, 22, of Longview both escaped from the jail on Tuesday. Jackson was caught early Wednesday after sheriff's deputies stopped a van he was driving near the community of Elderville.

Kelly was caught as he stood beneath a carport Tuesday night, hours after the escape was discovered.

Sheriff Maxey Cerliano said previously that a jail trusty and a relative of Kelly were involved the escape. The department has started new operational procedures because of the escape.

Jackson was serving a life sentence after being convicted this month for killing a man during a 2007 Longview pawn shop robbery. Kelly is charged in a 2008 robbery and slaying.
