HISD closes Travis Elementary for rest of year

HOUSTON Travis Elementary in the Heights was supposed to re-open for classes this coming Tuesday, but according to HISD, the city of Houston Health Department requested that Travis remain closed another 10 days, which is after the scheduled end of the school year.

It was at Travis that 25 students were confirmed to have contracted the swine flu.

Summer school will start in June for those students who have to go. The rest of the students will be credited for school days missed.
