Driver charged in deadly Mother's Day wreck

A Galveston man with a drunken driving record is now charged in a crash that killed three people. [SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

Tremaine Albert, 25, his 10-year-old stepson Alan Meredith and 3-year-old godson Isaiah Barnett were killed after a Mother's Day celebration. A driver veered off Seawall Boulevard and slammed into a parked car that hit them.

The driver of the vehicle, Orvel Wayne Speck, 44, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital via Life Flight and was hospitalized. On Sunday, May 17, Speck was released from Memorial Hermann Hospital and arrested and booked into the Galveston County Jail on three counts of intoxicated manslaughter with a bond totaling $240,000.
