Hotel clerk pleads with robber

Crime Stoppers and Harris County Robbery investigators are asking the public's help in identifying a suspect who robbed the Holiday Inn Express at 12915 West FM 1960 on Wednesday, May 6.At approximately 3:05am, a Hispanic male entered the front door, jumped the counter and threatened the clerk with a screwdriver. He demanded cash. He then pulled the cash box from the drawer, jumped back over the counter and fled the scene. Surveillance cameras captured the suspect exiting the passenger side of an older model tan or beige two-door Oldsmobile Cutlass before he entered the hotel door.

The clerk had pled with the suspect not to harm her. He replied that he was not going to harm her, that "it's about the recession."

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male 18-20 years old, 5'6" ? 5'8" tall, with a slender to average build. He was wearing a red and gray hoodie, dark pants, white-striped Puma athletic shoes, and had a dark cloth covering his face.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information called in to the 713-222-8477 (TIPS) hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, arrest and/or charging of any suspect in this case. All tipsters remain anonymous.
