Around 1:30am Houston firefighters responded to a fire at her apartment off Westward at Elm. They were able to get the fire under control quickly, but there was damage.
The family wasn't home at the time, but neighbors alerted the mom about what was going on. Authorities say the mother had been arguing with a man who allegedly threatened to kill her. She thinks the man who threatened her may have started the fire.
Arson is investigating the case.
