Red Cross shelters open in NW Harris County

The Red Cross is setting up shelters to help residents displaced during the flooding from the storms that moved through the greater Houston area.[SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

The Red Cross is opening two shelters in Northwest Harris County:

  • Copperfield Church, 8350 Hwy. 6 North, Houston, TX 77095 at 10 a.m. - 540 capacity
  • Bear Creek United Methodist Church, 1600 Rippling Water, Houston, TX 77084 at 11 a.m. - 300 capacity
  • Christian Life Center of Christ, 6363 Research Forest Dr., Spring, TX 77381 at 11:30 a.m. - 100 capacity
Additional shelters on standby and will be opened as needed.

People going to Red Cross Shelters should bring: toiletries; pillows and bedding, their prescription medicines; formula and diapers if they have young children; special food if needed for dietary or cultural reasons.
