Fire crews battle apartment fire

It broke out around 5:30am on Tierwester at Griggs in southeast Houston near Thompson Elementary School.

HISD officials say the school's bus drop off is on the east side of the building, so students shouldn't expect any delays.

Fire crews say they had fire in the attic of at least one building of the complex. Firefighters say the fire is under control but they are taking a little longer than expected tapping it out.

There were no reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
