Some businesses in Brenham suffered damage from the storm. The roof was peeled back from a Hartz Chicken restaurant, and a Blockbuster video sign blew over, hitting a parked pickup. Both businesses are in the same complex on the south side of town. There are also reports of windows being blown out at another business, Giddings Stone Mansion.

About 1,000 customers were without power in Brenham. Trees downed on power lines and roads all over the city hampered efforts to restore power and also made any kind of travel difficult.

During the height of the storm, CenterPoint reported 6,000 customers without power and Entegy reported 3,500 customers without power in the Conroe area. No injuries have been reported.

Pea sized hail fell in many parts of Houston's metro area. Heavy rain created a hazardous driving situation throughout the evening rush hour. Check our interactive traffic map for the latest on the freeway conditions.
