The incident happened around 8:30pm last night at a Valero gas station off Kenswick near Huntermoor.
The man walked into the store and bought something. When he came back to his car, two men approached him.
"They shot him in the neck in an apparent robbery attempt and then fled from the store on foot," said Sgt. Ben Beall with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The robbers are in their late teens or early twenties. Investigators do have video and some witnesses.
