Late last night, Joanne Allen says her boyfriend heard what he thought was gunfire. That noise turned out to be the car burning in the driveway. Neighbors reported the blaze off Post Gate near Spring Grove around 10:30pm, sending crews from the Spring Fire Department to the home.
"They told me that somebody broke into the car and tried to steal things out of the car and they set the car on fire and it caused the house to catch on fire," said Allen.
The couple was asleep inside but an official was able to wake them up and get them out. They moved into the home less than a month ago. The suspect hasn't been caught.
