Ex-pastor charged with murder posts bond

WACO, TX The Waco Tribune-Herald reports Matt Baker posted bond on Friday and left the McLennan County Jail. A judge lowered his bond from $500,000 to $250,000 on Thursday after declaring Baker was indigent.

Baker has denied killing his wife, Kari. He contends she committed suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills because she was despondent over the death of their young daughter from cancer.

Kari Baker's 2006 death in Hewitt was initially ruled a suicide before her parents pressed authorities to reopen the case.

Matt Baker was arrested late last month.
