Ex-mail carrier headed to prison

A federal judge has sentenced Rodney Ervin to 25 months for mail theft, access device fraud and aggravated identity theft. Ervin admitted stealing mail containing several credit cards, from customers on his route near Bear Creek Park in northwest Houston.

Ervin was identified on surveillance video from places like Target and Texaco, using the stolen credit cards. He had worked for the US Postal Service since 1999. His employment has since been terminated.
