Suspect caught with loaded gun on HS campus

Two young men were arrested at a local high school after one of them brought a gun on the campus, all thanks to a tip call.[SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

A little after noon, a tipster called into the Crime Stoppers Tip Line with information about a former student who was on a high school campus with a gun. The tipster stated that a former student was on the campus of Cy Creek High School in the Cy-Fair School District with a gun. The tipster stated that suspect was in the school's cafeteria and also gave a description of the suspect.

The officer taking the tip immediately notified the appropriate law enforcement agency. Within minutes the suspect was located in the cafeteria and arrested. He had a fully loaded Smith and Wesson 9 mm pistol. At the time of the arrest the gun was in the suspect's backpack.

The suspect's brother was also with him and he was arrested for trespassing. Both of the suspects were former students at the school. They were arrested without incident. No one was injured.

According to a school district spokesperson, a phone message was sent out to parents of students at Cy Creek HS.
