It happened at a home on Torregon Lane just south of the Tour 18 golf course. The homeowner says he woke up around 3:30am after the sound of the car crashing into the house.

According to investigators, the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle along Will Clayton and ran into a ditch, hit a guide-wire, crossed across a small field, hit a fence and then cut across some empty lots before hitting the house.

The driver was taken by a medical helicopter to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

"I came outside and tried helping the driver because he was trapped in the vehicle," said homeowner Lucas Saucedo. "By that time my wife had called 911 and 911 had told her to leave everyone as they are and not try to move anybody, so at that point I just left the driver in the vehicle. But you just try to help people and unfortunately we weren't able to help him."

"Yeah, it's a good thing it didn't happen during the day. This is a nice neighborhood," said Sgt. Derek Wilkie with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "I'm sure there are a lot of kids that play out in the streets out here or out in the yards. It's very fortunate it didn't happen during the day."

The passenger, amazingly enough, was not injured at all. He says he fell asleep during the drive and when he woke up he realized he was sitting in front of someone's home. He was taken into custody on suspicion of public intoxication.

The driver is also being tested for impairment. Authorities do believe that one of two of them had been drinking. They are also testing to see if other drugs may have caused impairment.

No one in the house was injured.
