Driver dies when car slams into tree

At around 6:30pm Saturday, police say the man was speeding westbound on Long at Chaffin. He lost control of his Mustang when the road curved. The car skidded into a grassy median and then slammed into two trees.

The driver died and a passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Houston police don't think alcohol played a role in this crash, however, they are still trying to determine the cause.
