He was indicted Wednesday on four counts, including mail fraud, wire fraud and lying to a federal agent.
The 10-page indictment alleges Barraza, who took the bench in January, took bribes and asked for sex from defendants, including an undercover FBI agent, in exchange for his help in felony cases.
Court records do not list a lawyer who could comment for Barraza, who will make a court appearance Thursday afternoon.
