Teenager gets caught in rip tide

Freeport police say the teenager was swimming with his friends Sunday afternoon when he got caught in the rip tide. According to the Brazoria County Facts newspaper, the 15-year-old was taken to the hospital by helicopter.

The other teens swimming with him were able to get him out of the current. No one else was hurt.
