After shots were fired, a SWAT team was quickly called in.

Around 11pm yesterday, police were called out to a home near Cardinal Court and Oaks in Pasadena about a domestic disturbance. According to investigators, a man was holding his wife and child against their will.

When the first officer arrived, he walked up to the door. That's when the suspect reportedly fired his weapon through the front door at that officer.

Around the same time, a second officer went around the back of the house and was looking in through a back window. The suspect apparently saw him and fired his shotgun at that officer, as well.

Fortunately, neither of those officers were hit.

At some point, the woman and child were able to escape, but the man simply wouldn't leave and a SWAT team was called in. Negotiators spoke with the suspect and were able to eventually convince him to come out of the house without incident.

The suspect is facing an assault charge for the domestic disturbance. He's also possibly facing attempted capital murder charges for firing at the officers.
