Getting more voters in Harris County

Tax Assessor-Collector Leo Vasquez announced a new voter registration partnership Thursday morning. It's a team effort between the county and private businesses to get the word out. The Houston Apartment Association, Comcast and Continental Airlines are some of the folks that have signed on to help. Vasquez says the goal is to get voter registration cards wherever they can.

He said, "I'll send as many of these as any company in Harris County wants to make sure you can hand these off to your employees."

Under the plan, people signing apartment leases at apartments would be reminded to register to vote. Comcast will also run public service announcements. Businesses that are participating will remind their employees to update their voter registration.
