Armed robber wanted for string of hold-ups

Police want help tracking down a criminal they believe held up a string of convenience stores.Houston police robbery division investigators have released surveillance photos of a suspect wanted for robbing five convenience stores, four of them on the same day.

The suspect struck four convenience stores on the city's westside on December 4, 2008. When he entered the Valero Gas Station at 11101 Briar Forest Drive he pointed a gun at the store clerks and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk complied and put the money in a beige pillowcase the suspect was carrying. The suspect then fled southbound on foot.

The suspect also robbed three other convenience stores on December 4:

  • Stop and Go at 12802 Bellaire
  • Food Store at 9803 Kirkwood
  • Stop-N-Carry at 6300 Dumfries
  • In addition, on November 30, 2008, he robbed a Valero Gas Station at 7230 Long Point.

    The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his mid 20s, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has a stocky build and short hair. In all five robberies he was seen wearing shorts and a black jacket with a hood.
