Her trip was especially important to the island because she was expected to talk about stimulus money.

We will not see the Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, as planned. But that doesn't change the issues that need to be addressed.

The secretary was supposed to announce tens of millions of dollars for the road to recovery, specifically for the Galveston Causeway Bridge, specifically to the railroad bridge.

She was scheduled to tour the damage from Hurricane Ike with Texas Governor, Rick Perry, and meet with business, other state, and local leaders about disaster recovery and renewal, according to her schedule.

The secretary was also scheduled to go to Port Arthur to see the situation there, first hand. Earlier this month, she visited Mississippi and Louisiana to take stock of recovery efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

We'll keep you posted, if and when she re-schedules her trip to Texas.
