From now until 6pm Wednesday, former Stanford Financial employees are being allowed back inside the 5050 Westheimer location to pick up their personal belongings. Former employees who worked at the 5051 location are being allowed in on a limited basis until further notice.
The financial receiver made the decision to allow them to get their personal belongings.
/*Stanford Financial*/'s assets were seized last month as part of the SEC civil lawsuit that accuses the company's chief, /*Allen Stanford*/, of operating a massive Ponzi scheme that allegedly misappropriated billions of dollars of investors' funds. Since then, Stanford's companies have been placed in receivership and have ceased operations.
In a statement, the receiver told former employees, "If you have receipts for electronic equipment or other items in your office, please bring them with you to expedite this process. Also bring boxes, carts and other assistance, as necessary, to complete the removal of your personal belongings."
