Pasadena to consider cell phone ban

Pasadena city council members will get a first reading of an ordinance to ban talking and texting for anyone behind the wheel while driving near a school during school hours.

The Pasadena ordinance would not go as far as West University's ban, which also prohibits hands-free devices. Pasadena's ordinance will have to be brought up at a second city council meeting before its made law.
