Teachers from Fort Bend County ISD boarded a bus early Monday morning. The local teachers joined an estimated 1,200 teachers and public school employees for a rally at the state capitol. The educators told lawmakers the state needs to address standardized testing, inadequate funding for schools and teacher salaries.
Meantime, the HISD board members attended a meeting with the secretary of education Monday in Washington to discuss reforming America's urban schools.
