In December 2008, police were called to a home in the 7100 block of South Champlain, for a report of an unresponsive child. Hodges later died at Comer Children's Hospital. The Cook County Medical Examiner determined that she died of multiple injuries due to child abuse.
Investigators have not commented on the relationship between Myles and the victim. Myles had been in custody since shortly after the girl's death on an unrelated parole violation.
