Bank robbers parade various disguises

Authorities in Montgomery County are trying to track down some robbers who've been targeting area banks.Since February 11, 2009, there have been four bank robberies in the South Montgomery area. There are no definitive links that these crimes were committed by the same person.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes instigators are meticulously examining all available evidence and are working cooperatively with all local, state, and federal agencies seeking additional information and evidence.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office believes that the release of factual information to the public could assist investigators with identifying the suspect(s) in these crimes. No one was injured in any of the following incidents.

1. Wednesday, February 11, 2009
Wachovia Bank
10000 Woodlands Parkway

2:25 PM -- A white male, described as being in his late 20's, entered the bank wearing sunglasses and a hat. The suspect demanded money from the teller, and then left the bank on foot walking towards a nearby apartment complex. No vehicle or weapon was seen.

2. Friday, February 20, 2009
Chase Bank
8201 Kuykendahl Road

3:00 PM -- A white male, described to be in his late 20's to early 30's entered the bank wearing camo clothing and boots, sunglasses, and hat. The suspect displayed a firearm (pistol) and demanded money from the teller. The suspect left on foot to a nearby wooded area north of the bank. No vehicle was seen.

3. Thursday, March 5, 2009
Wells Fargo Bank
4880 West Panther Creek

10:59 AM -- A white male described as 6' to 6'02" weighing 230- 250 pounds with a shaved or bald head wearing sunglasses, a white button down dress shirt and yellow tie with dark slacks entered the bank and displayed a handgun and demanded money from the teller. The suspect left on foot east through the parking lot. No vehicle was seen.

4. Wednesday, March 11, 2009
Chase Bank
4775 West Panther Creek

1:40 PM -- A white male in his early 20's entered the bank wearing sunglasses and a hat with "dreadlocks" hanging down. The suspect demanded money from the teller and placed a device on the counter telling employees that the device was a bomb. The suspect fled the bank on foot toward a nearby apartment complex. No vehicle was seen. The device was a non-explosive device.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance from the community and encouraging anyone with information about these crimes to call the Sherriff's Office or Crime Stoppers. Anyone who believes that they are witnessing suspicious behavior should immediately contact the Sheriff's Office. The community can be an effective partner with law enforcement by being a good witness and reporting unusual behavior or persons.
