The site for the General Assembly crashed Monday afternoon and isn't expected to be back online before late Wednesday.
House spokesman Larry Berman tells The Providence Journal the timing of the tech meltdown "couldn't have been worse" as legislators prepared to review the Republican governor's budget Tuesday.
The culprit: a hardware failure requiring a replacement part to be shipped from Colorado.
Assembly members use the Web site to read legislative calendars and bills. Until the new part is installed, they'll have to use paper printouts.
