Routine traffic stop turns into chase

The situation started around 2:30am, when an officer spotted the suspect making an illegal turn around Allen Parkway and Taft. When the officer tried to pull the driver over, he took off.

They reached speeds of 85 miles per hour before the chase ended at Tallyho near the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston.

Police say they found open beer cans in his truck and cocaine.
