It was the first meeting for the Edwards children and the heroes that saved them since that terrifying night.
"Very proud. It was very exciting and fantastic," said Patrick Edwards, one of the children rescued.
On New Year's Day, little Patrick, 9, and his two younger siblings, Angel, 8, and Jerome, 4, were trapped in their grandparents' burning home.
By the time firefighters arrived, the home was totally filled will smoke. Three firefighters wasted no time and pulled the three children out.
Patrick, who suffered the most severe burns, is still recovering. His sister and brother are completely healed.
Their mother was thrilled to get a chance to thank the firefighters who saved her children.
"We just need more people like them and I really do appreciate it. I thank the fire department and the ambulance. They need just so much credit," said Tondra Edwards.
Edwards also said she now considers the firefighters part of her family.
Investigators believe the fire broke out while the children were left home alone. Their grandfather has been charged with injury to a child by omission.
