We are told that the little girl's father was screaming her name across the apartment complex when he discovered she was missing. The father told police that the suspect snatched the little girl before his own eyes.
The suspect was arrested. He's a 23-year-old male and police believe he was under the influence of some sort of substance.
Relatives tell us that this happened around 7:30pm Friday night when the father arrived home, spotted the suspect grab his daughter and take off.
The family immediately began pursuing the suspect around the complex. About twenty minutes later, the girl's older sister found her outside a laundry mat. The suspect was just feet away.
Neighbors cornered the suspect and the girl identified him as her abductor. She also claimed that he touched her inappropriately.
Juanita Lozano is a neighbor who was there when the little girl was round. "The man who had taken the child was standing right there in front of me and the little girl kept saying, 'He took me. He stole me.' All he kept saying was, 'I didn't do anything to her,'" she said.
We also talked to another woman who said that her 8-year-old daughter was approached by the suspect in the same laundry mat about ten minutes before the other incident. She left though thinking it was suspicious and nothing happened to her daughter.
Police have taken the suspect to headquarters to question him. No word on whether any charges have been filed against him.
As for the little girl, she was taken to Texas Children's Hospital for examination.
