'State of the Schools' address scheduled today

HOUSTON Dr. Saavedra is expected to discuss his goals in improving dropout retention, recruiting and rewarding employees and improving communications between the district and its stakeholders. The superintendent will also talk about some of his accomplishments like district-wide improvement on TAKS scores.

The 2009 State of the Schools address will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center at 11:30am.
