Managers at the Public Works Department in Gloucester, Mass., say they don't need help with their spelling. They say the word official is deliberately misspelled on the official garbage bags.

The new $2 purple bags must be used for household trash. City officials tell The Gloucester Daily Times the intentional typo will make it easier catch cheats who try to use phony trash bags.
