Ex-Councilmember Tinsley to be laid to rest

A memorial service will be held at Houston's South Main Baptist Church for Eleanor Tinsley. It will begin at 11am. The late former city councilwoman died earlier this week at the age of 82.

Tinsley fought to desegregate HISD in the 1960s. In 1979, she became one of the first women elected to Houston city council.
