Hotel owner accused of price gouging

The state attorney general's office claims the owner of a Rodeway Inn in Sealy raised room rates as much as 140 percent in the days after the storm. The hotel also continued charging state and local taxes after the governor temporarily waived those taxes.

If convicted, the hotel owner and manager face a $20,000 fine for each price gouging violation.
