Galveston to get FEMA funds for school buses

FEMA is sending money to Galveston ISD to replace the ailing school district's buses. [SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

Those buses were kept on the island to help out with storm evacuations. But they were not used and the storm destroyed the vehicles. Forty-five of the 50 buses were rendered useless.

FEMA is sending the district $1 million to purchase new buses.
