Homeless man hit, killed by METRO bus

It happened on San Jacinto at McKinney. Houston police say a man was standing at the bus stop waiting when the homeless man approached him for money. After the man refused, the homeless man started poking at him with his crutches. That's when the man pushed him away.

"The man fell onto the street and the remained there for a very long period of time" said John Zitzmann with the Houston Police Department. "METRO bus also traveling northbound on San Jacinto didn't see the vagrant, the gentlemen, lying on the street and ran him over."

The man died at the scene. The DA's office will decide if charges will be filed.
