The man being held is Homer Clark Steele, Jr., 69. He was arrested on Tuesday morning and he is being charged with indecency, aggravated sexual assault, promoting child pornography, and two counts of possession of child pornography.

Police got a search warrant to go through Steele's Pasadena townhouse on Wednesday. Investigators tell Eyewitness News that Steele admitted to abusing boys dating back as far as 1964. They also tell us that a five-year-old boy from Marshall had been living with Steele up until the time he was arrested.

Neighbors were stunned that Steele was arrested.

"It is pretty concerning due to the fact that I think there should be a background check to some extent, especially where there are kids involved," said neighbor Maria Raveling. "I believe they should be a little bit closer watched as to who is coming around here. A lot of these are not owner-occupied. There are a lot of them that are for rent."

Another neighbor, Justin Chapman, said, "I'm very relieved to know that the children who live around here are safe now. Hopefully, there's no one else around here that does that."

Police said that Steele may have lived at other locations including addresses in The Heights and Montrose areas. Steele is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.

If you recognize Steele, please call the Pasadena Police Department at 713-475-7800.
