Woman tied up during home invasion

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX [SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

It happened on Martinec in the Silver Lake subdivision Monday. Brazoria County Sheriff's deputies say it happened around 6am when the woman was attacked by a masked man as she came out of the house. She was forced back inside at gunpoint.

This is frightening to residents in the Silver Lake subdivision. Just last week, another man attacked a man and his pregnant wife as they left for work.

"We're not going to say these are related at this time because of the method that was used and also that a weapon was displayed in this one, the similarities are not there," said Lt. Russ Baker with the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators sat he woman is OK. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The woman's husband told us that the suspect actually cut her free before fleeing the scene.

Monday's home invasion comes less than a week after a man and his pregnant wife were attacked in their garage in Brazoria County. The husband and wife, who's four months pregnant, say the man waited in their garage and attacked them as they headed to work. He hit both of them with a hammer. Investigators released a composite sketch of the suspect. He's still at large.
