Authorities say a man and his girlfriend were pretty bold in the robberies. Officers say the couple robbed two restaurants near the North Loop and where on their way to a third on Houston Avenue near the North Freeway when they were caught.

It all began at a Whataburger on the North Loop near Airline. Police say they pulled up to the drive-thru, pulled out a gun and demanded money. The clerk inside gave the money up and the suspects took off.

Investigators say the pair then went to a Jack-in-the Box not far from the first crime scene and they robbed that place as well. The clerk gave them the cash register.

At that point, police were on the lookout for them. An officer spotted them at a third location, a McDonald's off the North Loop. Officers pulled the suspects over and arrested them. Authorities say they found an unloaded handgun in the vehicle.

The crime spree lasted a couple of hours overnight. Investigators say these suspects may be linked to a number of robberies in the Clear Lake area.
