The first broke out just before 9pm Wednesday on Majestic near Cavalcade in northeast Houston. Firefighters had to go into defensive mode at first due to the size of the fire, but they were able to get it under control. Crews say the flames started in the kitchen.

No one was home at the time. Investigators ruled the fire as accidental, most likely an electrical problem.

The second fire broke out about two hours later on Dahlia near Daisy in southeast Houston.

Crews say when they arrived, fire was coming from the rear of a one story home. The flames also started spreading to a neighboring garage. It took about 20 minutes to put out the flames.

No one was hurt.
