Carjackers caught on surveillance tape

Crime Stoppers and Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office are asking the public's assistance for any information on the January 10, 2009 aggravated robbery and car jacking that took place in the parking lot of an apartment complex located near the 8900 block of West Road.On Saturday, January 10, 2009 around 3:40am, a young woman drove up to the gates of her apartment complex near the 8900 block of West Road. As she was waiting for the gate to open several young black males approached her and surrounded her car. One of the men produced a pistol and threatened to kill her if she did not exit her car.

The victim complied with their demand and got out of her car. As she was exiting the car, the suspects got in her car and fled the scene. Her car was found abandoned several hours later near the 10100 block of West Road.

A surveillance camera caught three of the suspects in the act of abandoning the car. The suspects caught on tape are black males in their early 20's.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-8477 (TIPS) hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, arrest and charging of any suspect in this case. All tipsters remain anonymous.
