Man charged after toddler found dead

MOUNT PLEASANT, TX Shane Michael Charlton remained in the Titus County jail Wednesday, with bond for the 42-year-old set at $1 million. That's according to Titus County Sheriff Tim Ingram, who says an autopsy showed Katie Frye's death was a homicide.

Ingram says Charlton and the girl's mother, Barbara Tucker, had reported the girl missing Monday. But bloodhounds from a state prison in New Boston searched the grounds of their house and found the shallow grave in the backyard.

Tucker told deputies she'd been away from the house for several hours. Ingram says she has not been charged.
