US Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison is showing just how serious she is about running for the governor of Texas in 2010. "I am preparing to run for governor," she said. "I'm not equivocal, I'm not undecided."

Hutchison revealed Thursday that she has transferred nearly $8 million from her federal campaign account into a state fund. Hutchison said she would be taking additional steps toward the race in the coming weeks.

Meantime, current Governor Rick Perry, who has already announced his plans to run for a third term, reported having $6.6 million in campaign cash. Perry is already the longest serving governor in state history.
