Driver loses control, slams into pillar

The woman was traveling northbound on the North Freeway when she tried to exit at Rankin. She clipped several barrels, crashed into a wall then slid into a concrete pillar. Heavy rescue took her out of her car.

She was taken to the hospital by Life Flight in serious condition. Investigators believe alcohol could have been involved in the crash. They will test the victim's blood alcohol level at the hospital.
