Police say the driver was traveling eastbound on Airport near Scott around 12:30am at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a tree. No other vehicles were involved in this incident.
Debris from the accident was all over the road. The driver died at the scene.
His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiners Office.
