The child's parents were also ordered not to leave any of their children alone with their grandfather. Police say the grandfather, Roy Garza, 54, was drunk last Friday when he left the five-month-old infant alone in a stroller at the playground outside of Collins Elementary School.
Since this happened, relatives say the child's mother decided to quit her job so she could care for her children instead.
"Oh well, we got to pull through," said Gloria Ruiz, the child's grandmother. "Everybody's got to do what they have to do. She's got to do what she's got to do."
The child could be released to his parents Tuesday. Garza will be allowed supervised visits.
