Friendswood woman's death ruled homicide

The body of 31-year-old Francisca Marie Calkins was discovered Sunday at a home in the 200 block of Chester Drive. Officials say the original call went out as an accidential drowning, but the medical examiner says the death was a homicide. Police believe the woman may have been physically assaulted.

There's no word yet on a motive but officials say they do not believe the crime was random.
