Galveston hopes bike rally gave island boost

Galveston's Lone Star Rally has ended, and organizers hope it brought a much-needed boost to the island's economy. [SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

About 250,000 bikers were expected to visit the island over the weekend. Rally organizers are still adding up revenue numbers, including money collected to help Galveston rebuild.

There was one injury this year when a woman hit her head after falling off a bike. There were also at least a half-dozen other reported wrecks.
