Galveston post office to reopen

Galveston's main post office, which shut down after Hurricane Ike, is expected to reopen its doors Monday. [SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

It can be found in the federal building at 601 25th Street.

Following the storm, a temporary post office was set up in La Marque. That location will shut down Monday.

If you still haven't applied for FEMA aid, you have extra time to do so. The deadline for storm victims has been extended to January 10th. You can apply by calling 1-800-621 FEMA or by logging onto fema.gov.
